Tanner Martin, a Utah based influencer who was first diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer (a type of colorectal cancer) in November 2020 when he was just 25 years old. At the time of detection, the cancer was already spread beyond the colon and there was not any scope for treatment or cure. But, with a hope to live a short joyful life he underwent many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and major surgeries through many years.
Martin has publicly documented his struggle and hardships throughout his illness and shared with his large social media following. He became father of a daughter in May 2025 and named her AmyLou. Even struggling with a terminal cancer, Martin and his wife Shay Wright both together shared their life moments, realities, hardships and treatment routines and gradual failing of hope. They worked towards spreading awareness about colon cancer among young patients.
Martin, in February 2023 got to know that his cancer is terminal and he wont be able to survive beyond a couple of years. From that day onwards he started preparing for his end or eventual passing.
Finally, on 25th June 2025 Martin took his last breathe at his home in Utah. He recorded a final video giving a message to everyone and showed gratitude and advise to his followers. He asked for kindness and support through donations for his wife and daughter, which will be left alone after his demise.
His final message was posted on social media and it went viral among his followers.
According to American Cancer Society Report of 2024, colon cancer has become a leading cause of death among men below the age of 50, in the US.
Martin’s one-on-one sharing of his daily updates, treatment results and medical as well as emotional journey has contributed a lot among younger generations by creating awareness and early detection of such terminal illnesses in young patients.
